Serious Issues In The Media. Age Gap Relationships in Friends And Gilmore Girls

Serious Issues In The Media: Age Gap Relationships Gilmore Girls S4 Ep 10 The Nanny And The Professor  Disclaimer: I am not a therapist. I just lik e to  draw connections between my favorite tv show characters and how they handle situations.  First of all I’d assume Asher’s marriage must be down the toilet if he dates a new on freshmen student every single year.  That’s a huge red flag  The actor who played Asher apparently did not like this story  arc and I do not blame him because Asher is basically a pedophile and this is just used as comic relief.  Like Alice and Frank Jr’s relationship in Friends  it is predatory.  Frank Jr is still in high school and Alice is 44.. I personally think he was being groomed into  thinking it was okay because he was abandoned his by dad  and has no male role model  to  guide him. Phoebe attempts to have Joey and Ross help but this fails.   I think that Paris dates Asher mostl...

A Little Women Content Wrap Up

Little Women is featured in S 3 Episode 13 of Friends The One Where Monica And Richard Are Just Friends in the B plot where Rachel and Joey exchange books, Joey reads Little Women and Rachel reads  The Shining by Stephen King.  This is my fourth time reading Little Women   previosuly having read it in 2020, 2022 and 2024 respectively.  It's a cosy book to read  in the winter since the beginning is set at Christmas time.  The March sister I relate to the most is  Jo because she is a  writer and Beth because she loves music.  I  do not like  the love triagle between Amy, Jo and Laurey ... it drives me absolutely nuts.  Matt, Kathleen and I saw the musical at Portland Players on Sunday afternoon.   The set and costume design for this production was lovely. My favorite songs are Astonishing Five Forever, Off  To Massachuetts  Some Things Are Meant To Be and The Fire In Me. Notable performances were by Kelly Mos...

People We Meet On Vacation. Book/Movie Comparison

Alex and Poppy are  my least favorite Emily  Henry couple. Much like Wyn & Harriet in Happy Place their miscommunication drives me nuts. The film fleshes out the reason why Alex and Poppy do not talk  for such a long time much better and it makes me feel bad for Poppy a little bit because she basically ruined his relationship with Sara.  I do not really like the whole pregnancy thing  because it made no sense to me. I loved the cinematography in the scene when they are in Mexico.

Valentines Day Special Feature Would Emily Henry Couples Still Be Together

Would Emily Henry Couples Still Be Together Yes January and Gus Nora and Charlie  Daphne and Miles Maybe  Hayden and Alice   Poppy and  Alex No  Wyn and Harriet Explanations: January and Gus Go around to schools and local career fairs talking to students and attendees about what got them into writing, have two childen and they take a family trip each year to the beach where they met. Nora and Charlie At this point Nora has retired from her high stress job in publishing and has relocated to live with Charlie in Sunshine Falls where she teaches classes at the local community college about the ins and outs of publishing. Libby's daughter is four years old. Daphne and Miles. They are happily married with three kids and a golden retriever named Langston. Hayden and Alice I think after their project ends with interviewing Margaret they work a little more on getting to know each other better. Their relationship may or may or may not last depending on i...

How The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo connects to Rachel Green

How Taylor Jenkins Reid's Characters relate to Rachel Green This month for Jennifer Aniston's birthday I put together a small TBR of books that describe Rachel Green's character on Friends. In this blog post I will be discussing two books that I read for  the TBR by Taylor Jenkins Reid After I Do and The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo. After I Do focuses on Lauren and Ryan who are having struggles in their marriage.  They take a break from their relationship to try to figure things out.  I love how fleshed out Lauren's relationship with her family is because you really get to know them pretty well by the end of the book. Ryan is not fleshed out and I wish more had been gone into his relationship with his family.   The relationship dynamics in this book are what makes it similar to Rachel because the break Lauren and Ryan take from their relationship makes me thing of what happens when they have their fight in Season 3.  Lauren's conversation with her mother ...

Reviews. The Book Thief and The Book Club For Troublesome Women

Book Review of The Book Thief by Marcus Zuzak   This book gave me a lot of mixed emotions. Like many books about the Holocaust it made me very sad but at the same time in all the bleakness it was refreshing to read from our main character Liesel’s point of view. I loved the development of Max’s relationship with Liesel as well.  In regards to Liesel’s relationship with Rudy I view their dynamic more as siblings than as a romantic couple. They were very sweet.  Kathleen and I buddy read The Book Club For Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick for our January TBR. This book focuses on Margaret. who starts a book club with her neighbors Charlotte, Bitsy and Viv. These four women are housewives in the 1960s and in their book club they read the book The Feminine Mystique. While this book has no connection to the Friends TBR I found this book discussion that Margaret, Bitsy, Charlotte and Viv have about The Feminine Mystique is similar to the discussion Phoebe, Monica and ...
