Good Afternoon

Hi  there!   This is the new and improved blog that goes along with the Enteertainment Review  Blog post and also that Manhatten To Stars Hollow TBR Podcast.


This blog used to be called Theatre Is My Life and was initially started in September 2008 when I first became a frieelance writer for the Milford Cabinet  in Milford NH where I reviewed theatre productions for Amherst PTA in Amherst NH, Milford Area Players in Milford  NH, Peacock Players in Nashua NH and Riverbend Youth Company in  Milford NH.  I was very  fortunate to perforn with the Amherst PTA  and Milford Area Players and also sing with the Souhegan Valley Chorus in Milford NH  and the  Unitarian Universalist Church Choir in Nashua NH from 2011-2023 and cherish all the memories and friendships  I made along the way.

Currently I reside in Portland Maine where I currently volunteer in the after school program at the Boys and Girls Club and will be starting my  job at Vertical Harvest Farms.  I am also a disasbility rights activist and  go  around to local schools and also schools in New Hampshire with my mom where we promote the Children's book we co-wrote in 2021  We Want To Go School The Fight For Disabliity Rights. Our goal with this program is to educate other about  the law that was passed in 1971 to allow  students with disabilities to go to public school.  I discuss the impact this law has had on me as as adult with disablilties. 

What is the blog about?:

In this blog  my partner Matt and I  review different types of media that we consume bimonthly on his Youtube Channels.   New videos are released at 7pm every Sunday.

What is the From Manhantten To Stars Hollow TBR Podcast?

My  friend Kathleen and I put together a reading list  at the beginning of this year.

Books on this TBR include:

  • Memoirs of Actors on Friends and Gilmore Girls
  • Books with New  York City settings or small town settings similar to Stars Hollow
  • Romance Books with relationship pairings similar to those of characters on both shows Example: In a recent read Fragile Sanctuary by Catherine Coweles  the main couple  are very similar to. Monica and Chandler. This was a five star read.
  • Books that are found on the Rory Gilmore reading challenge reading list.

Books I read this summer

Hi Everyone, Summer has kept me busy  so I figured I'd take this opportunity to talk about some books  in the past couple  months First up is A Thousand Splendid Suns  by  Kahleed Hussieni. This book was on my secondary TBR of books that were published during the time that Friends and Gilmore Girls was airing being published  in  the final season of Gilmore Girls in 2007.  This book  is a history of Afghanistian from the 1970s to the Taluban invasion in 2001.   It was a powerful and emotuinal story of  friendship and love amongst the background of all the devastation of war.   I never knew anything about Afghanistan's history  prior to the event of the Taliban invasion so that's what  keept me engaged.   Next up we have Beach Read   by Emily Henry, Of all Emily Henry's books January is the female lead I connect the most  with because she is a writer and I dealt with the writer's blo...

Emma. A TV/Book/Film Comparison

  Much like Pride and Prejudice what I liked the best about Emma was the atmosphere in London. I felt like I was traveling back to the 1800s.  The 1996 TV movie also has a very picturesque setting that made feel like I was in a place I have never been.    With Clueless I love how Amy Heckerling modernized Emma for the 1990s generation with Cher Horowitz who was played by Alicia Silverstone in  the lead role.  In Clueless I loved how Cher and Dionne played matchmaker with their teachers. I thought the dynamic between the relationship between the two teachers was adorable.   As If An Oral History of Clueless provided nice insigt into the making of the film. My favorite part of this book was when they talked about the costume design.  One thing I did not like about Clueless was how  Cher develops a crush on her step brother  Josh who was played by Paul Rudd.   Matt and I also watched the episode from  the TV show One For The Ro...

Looking for a good summer read? Happy Place is it

 Happy Place by Emily Henry centers around a group of college friends who are at their last summer getaway at their friend Sabrina’s summer home in Knot’s Harbor, Maine. This is a multi point of view story where past POVs focus on the group’s adventures and the present day POV  focuses on the fact that our main characters Wyn and Harriet are trying to hide the fact thar their engagement has been broken off from the rest of their friends. I come to this book for the Maine setting and the vibes this group of friends has with each-other, it very much reminds me of the friend group that I had  when I lived in New Hampshire. The constant miscommunication between Wyn and Harriet drives me completely insane and made me want to DNF with each reread. Out of all the characters in the friend group the person I found myself relating to is Sabrina.
