Book To Movie Comparison. Pride and Prejudice and Bridget Jones Diary

The format of this book was very interesting and I felt it was a very intimate way for us to get to know  the main character.   This book definitely works well as a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice. Another Pride and Prejudice retelling I recently read was Elizabeth Of East Hampton, the second book in the series with Emma Of 83rd Street in it.  Emma makes an appearance in this book as a part of Lizzie Bennet’s friend group.  This is set on Montauk Beach during Memorial Day weekend.  The Bennett’s run a family business based on selling leggings which Mrs. Bennett is very controlling of all her daughters being a part of . Lizzie gets into the Columbia University of Journalism so she is very similar to how Mrs. Bennett is controlling and intrusive in her relationship in the book and film of Pride And Prejudice. There is a character named Tristin in this book that runs a music festival who ends up getting arrested like Tristin gets arrested in Gilmore ...

Friends Lovers And The Big Thing Terrible Review

Matthew Perry’s memoir Friends Lovers And The Big Terrible Thing was very powerful and it made me emotional. I prefer the audiobook over the physical book since he narrated it. Even though I never met him in person I feel like I grew closer to him by the end of the book. I think it was very kind of him to turn his house into a sober living house for other addicts. I felt like I had a backstage pass to my favorite show when he talked about his experiences on Friends. I felt very sad for him that he was so lonely. It is evident both in Friends  and 17 Again that he would have been a great father. The scene where Mike talks to Maggie in his teenage body comforting her about her break up with Stan hits especially harder since both Matthew Perry and Michelle Tractenberg have passed away. Trachtenberg passed away in March from complications with her liver due to diabetes Matty mentions how Fools Rush In is his favorite movie that he ever did. It is my favorite movie of his too...

Emma. A TV/Book/Film Comparison

Much like Pride and Prejudice what I liked the best about Emma was the atmosphere in London. I felt like I was traveling back to the 1800s.  The 1996 TV movie also has a very picturesque setting that made feel like I was in a place I have never been.    With Clueless I love how Amy Heckerling modernized Emma for the 1990s generation with Cher Horowitz who was played by Alicia Silverstone in  the lead role.  In Clueless I loved how Cher and Dionne played matchmaker with their teachers. I thought the dynamic between the relationship between the two teachers was adorable.   As If An Oral History of Clueless provided nice insigt into the making of the film. My favorite part of this book was when they talked about the costume design.  One thing I did not like about Clueless was how  Cher develops a crush on her step brother  Josh who was played by Paul Rudd.   Matt and I also watched the episode from  the TV show One For The Ro...
